it's been a while since the last blog post, i know. there's a couple reasons for that, not the least of which is that i realized that i'd missed a month so wasn't eligible for the 6 month gold extension. sigh - that's a lame requirement if ever there was one. now if it was *averaging* one post per month instead, that might be cool. having run a computer bulletin board for years i know how important it is to generate activity on the site. but since i don't pay *that* much attention to what goes on here i'll probably let my membership lapse down to standard levels instead of renewing.
the other de-motivator has been the near total lack of live people local to me who will even answer an email. ah well, since i'm unable and unwilling to put that much energy in here it's probably just as well that i dial it down. hey, at least i did meet two very cool people in a year's time. guess i shouldn't complain, huh? 
i still plan to write here occasionally, and will always answer messages sent to me. but sending me a spank without bothering to write a couple quick lines, that's kinda pointless, yknow?

one thing that anyone who's used a site like this one knows, it doesn't pay to pretend to be something other than the way you really are. if the pics you post are 10 years old, you don't think anybody you meet will notice? you don't think they'll be upset? if you claim to be really well built, and you're not, that's not grounds for getting kicked to the curb instantly? of course it is.
so i wonder why the powers that be here at HotMatch.com central consider it fair game to practice deception on poor, naive potential subscribers? have you ever noticed the login page, which has a collection of hot looking members from your town. yes, if only you sign up, all these beauties will be at your fingertips. the only problem is, they're all fictional profiles.
tsk tsk....and so many of us complain about fakes on here. no wonder - that attitude starts with the powers that be at HotMatch.com. why expect the membership to be any different?

and it seems to go faster when you're not paying attention. i've spent a lot more time over the last month rocking out on my guitar than on my delectable fellow HotMatch.com-ers. too bad, too, as i'm more skilled at playing with people than with musical instruments. both have their places, though.
mostly i'm just biding my time until summertime hits. more of these cold and dreary spring days and i think i'll implode. i need to start working on my all over tan again!

i've been talking to a female friend from HotMatch.com (you know who you are!), and i've been struck by how many of the guys she talks to only talk about sex. i love sex as much as the next guy (ok, more!) but if that's all you have to talk about you're gonna be mighty dull!
and dullness is never a winning proposition.
besides, it's all about managing expectations. if you keep it reasonable, she'll only be pleasantly surprised when you whip out your ninja tantric sex moves. if all you do is yap about your skills and how big your cock is you'd better be able to deliver or you are one and done (if that). and since i'm bigger and more talented than you are, you're just gonna look like a chump. so cut it out! get some class!

but be that as it may....
i really have no use for cold weather. snow...yuck. ice...blah. having to wear extra clothing everywhere (or any at all)...not fun.
i'm not a big beach person, but give me those 90 degree, 90% humidity days of august anytime. yeah, everybody else slows down to my pace out of necessity. what's the big rush, anyways?
hmmm...but wintertime is basketball season, so it has at least one redeeming feature. and there are other indoor sports that are not affected by the season. i do believe that's the reason most of us are here, hmmm?
come on spring!

yknow, i never would have thought i'd become this boring. maybe it's the monogamy thing, i just don't think i'm cut out for it. not that i don't love the wife, because i do. it's just that i feel...dull. i never realized that the variety of having multiple partners was that important to me. i'm sure that a big factor has been that since getting remarried a couple years ago i've become isolated from all my friends too (hmmm....most of whom i had some sort of sexual relationship with as well).
i've talked with an assortment of those friends who have all said i was crazy to do this, and that it's impossible to go back to being vanilla. i was inclined to believe them at the time, but figured i could do it. and i have (ok, almost have). but i don't like it very much.
anybody else have that problem - trying to go back to "normal" vanilla life after experiencing the freedom of the wide open lifestyle? (ugh i hate that word - "lifestyle")

yeah, i know i'm just a regular grinch, but after the initial years i haven't really cared for christmas all that much. the whole concept just seems hollow to me. be nice...it's christmas? bah humbug. why not be nice all year long, because it's the right thing to do? the whole concept of armloads of presents is appalling. i don't want more stuff i won't use. i don't really even think my care all that much to get tons of things - i could easily re-wrap half their gifts from last year and give them again (now *there's* a concept), and i don't think they'd mind a bit.
so please excuse me while i sink into my december funk, wake me up when it's spring!

so i've browsed dozens of profiles now (because, yes, i have way too much time on my hands). there are all kinds out there, from minimal to maximum verbiage. some with no friends in the network, some with thousands. the ones i find most interesting are the ones with testimonials, because the testimonials are the only window into what the person(s) in the profile really are about. everything else is generated by the profile holder and could be totally made up for all we know.
now it's not a perfect window, as testimonials are still subject to approval, but it ain't bad. i pay more attention to a profile with three testimonials than one with a hundred friends.
i'm a bit up in the air about writing them myself, or having them about me. on the one hand, it's nice to know that somebody thought enough about me to say groovy things publicly. on the other, it does kinda intrude on our privacy by giving an indication who we're hooking up with. oh well, that comes with the territory. and some of the best times are had with friends of friends.
but there are two kinds of testmonials that get on my nerves. first there are the ones that are thinly veiled advertisements for the poster and have nothing to do with the profile (you know the kind - the ones with "SEXY" spelled out in x's, straight out of the 60's) and usually with a yahoo address encoded. why anybody approves those i have no idea. and the other ones are the "this is the hottest profile on HotMatch.com, i'd love to get with them!" yawn. write them an email then, that's what that's for. don't waste our time by cutting and pasting the same "hottest profile!" text to dozens of people just to show off. if you're going to flatter the pants off the hotties at least use some creativity! bleh.

the more time i'm on here the more fascinating this place and the people who visit here are. such an interesting combination of seething hormones with a not-so-subtle dash of loathing. how refreshingly bizarre! and all the qualifications: "black only!", "white only!", "must be 5'10" tall and weigh 190!" (192 is right out???), "must have 7/8/9 inches!", "must be under 43 years old!" ... wow, it's enough to make one's head spin in that linda blair kinda way.

wow, what a surprising development this has been - i've managed to get myself banned from one of my groups! as far as i can tell, i managed to warrant the deed by respectfully disagreeing with the group moderator on the group policy of banning anyone not openly proclaiming their bi-ness in their profile (men only of course, all women are permitted regardless of claimed orientation). the few times i visited the chat room there the entertainment consisted solely of the moderator abusing any "straight" guys wandering in, banning them, and soaking up the applause of the same usual toadies who were always there. dull and not exactly my cup of tea. but if that's the way they like it, more power to em. since i'm required to post every month to stay active on the off chance that something interesting would happen, i figured i'd toss in a comment.
evidently, mild dissent will also bring down the wrath. oh well, no big deal. i'm just amazed at such juvenile behavior on an allegedly "adult" site. i should know better!

supposedly guys are visually focused, and that's why dirty pics get us all soooo excited. (don't they, or is it just me?) that's one of the great things about HotMatch.com, just surf a while and you're bound to see something or someone that pushes the buttons just right.
personally, i don't know which i like better: watching or showing. there's something very hot about watching the live cams here. even if the lighting is bad, the picture is jerky and audio cuts in and out (if there is any audio to begin with) i think what i've seen here is way hotter than the professionally produced stuff. is it because these are real people and it's easier to imagine myself into the picture? probably. and i like the boldness it takes to put yourself on cam like that.
i've also gotten into the habit of putting on a show myself, usually late at night. i figure i'm gonna do it anyways, and i'm not shy, and i don't mind sharing, so... why not. if you don't like the show, don't watch. i haven't gotten up the nerve or energy to figure out how to do a video intro yet. not sure if i ever will, but there are a few hot ones out there - yummy stuff!
i've also attended a good number of parties that involved watching and being watched. great stuff! a little something for every interest!
there are a lot of HotMatch.com'ers who just want to watch. that's cool...but it'd be cooler if you contributed to the visual pool instead of just enjoying the fruits of our labors (so to speak!). give me something good to look at and inspire my next late night webcam performance!

guilty pleasures

...aren't always found between the sheets. or on the front lawn, or the back seat of the minivan, or a picnic table at the local park, or...
nope, sometimes you find them in a darkened room with dozens of strangers. yes, that's right - at the movies!
and sometimes those pleasures come from movies that your friends just scratch their heads and say, "you liked *that*???" most everybody has a candidate or two for "guilty pleasure" movie - a film that you know in your heart is bad, but you love watching it. i've got a couple in mind that i'm gonna share with you (hey, sharing is caring!). guilty pleasure movies cannot be popular (like "austin powers" - every second is a guilty pleasure, but it's way too popular to count), and they can't be classics (like "blade runner" which was a bomb when it came out, but is now recognized as basically wonderful).
with those criteria in mind, my first selection is "demolition man" starring sylvester stallone. i don't know why this wasn't massively popular - it's got sandra bullock, denis leary, wesley snipes and even stallone isn't half bad. i laugh my head off almost from start to end, and their vision of the future is pretty clever. great dialog, some nice touches (stallone's tough cop is programmed to learn how to knit while in suspended animation), good action.... i've watched this easily dozens of times, and it just gets better. but when i mention loving a stallone movie (besides "rocky") all i get are cross-eyed looks. it's great, i swear!
choice number two is "liquid sky" - a bizarro little film from the 80s that was made with a budget of about six bucks. but it's got a few clever visual effects, the acting isn't half bad, the story is just...out there (an alien lands on an artsy/druggy lesbian couple's apartment in new york and starts preying on people who have orgasms - which happen mainly when they're one of the lesbians), some clever dialog, strange 80s fashions, a weird synthesized soundtrack and an outstanding performance by the lead actress who also plays a junkie male model in addition to the previously mentioned rapee. i'm impressed that they did so much with so little. but whenever i mention this one all i get are blank looks - nobody has ever seen it. and the few that i've forced to sit through it all think i'm insane to like it so much. they're probably right. definitely guilty pleasure material - "delicious, delicious"!
so now that you've read this far, how bout tossing out your faves for us to marvel at? i love writing these whether i get a response or not but this one definitely calls for audience participation!
